The character of the space
Rhizome’s calendar places experimental music beside workshops, exhibitions and participatory programs. That breadth is central to the space, not an interruption to a concert calendar. It is a useful place to look when your project does not fit a conventional support-band pitch.
Admission and tickets
The operator says events are almost always all ages, with exceptions noted individually. Door payment is usually possible unless sold out; workshops may need advance registration. Event-specific mask requirements appear on the listing.
Access, in specific terms
The published Maple Street access description includes a ramp to the back door, performances usually on the first floor and the only bathroom upstairs. This is a significant limitation, not a fully accessible route. Ask about the exact event and your needs.
Getting there
The current about page gives 6950 Maple Street NW near Takoma Metro. Its April 2026 location update describes future renovations at 7733 Alaska Avenue NW. Do not send visitors to that future building without a new event-specific source.

Follow it for participatory and experimental work. Check the venue address each time during the planned transition, and account for the upstairs-only bathroom before deciding.
