The character of the space
Current Space connects performance with the work that makes a scene possible: practice rooms, studios, a darkroom and screenprinting. Its member-supported structure gives a concrete alternative to thinking about music solely through ticket sales. Programming ranges beyond punk, so follow the actual bill rather than assuming a genre from the venue.
Admission and tickets
The calendar distinguishes ticketed events from free nights. Gallery viewing hours are not show hours, and garden-bar hours have exceptions. Check the exact event’s age policy; our reviewed visit page does not establish a blanket admission rule.
Access, in specific terms
Current publishes a ground-level courtyard, first floor, galleries and restrooms without steps or curbs. Its visit page reports an all-gender accessible bathroom added in March 2026, plus seating in the gallery and courtyard. Ask about the surface and your viewing location if needed.
Getting there
Outdoor performances use the back gate at 421 Tyson Street. The gallery entrance is 421 N. Howard Street. Centre Street light rail and Lexington Market Metro are the operator’s transit references. The lot behind the gate is specifically flagged for aggressive towing.
