The character of the space
PhilaMOCA earns a place in a scene guide because music is part of a wider underground program. A film screening, an exhibition and a punk show can use the same address without offering the same experience. Read the event format before assuming there is a standing bill.
Admission and tickets
Promoters publish individual ticket prices and show times. If the event source does not state an age policy, we label it unconfirmed. Rental availability is not a public invitation to every event in the room.
Access, in specific terms
The operator lists two six-inch steps at the entrance and a wheelchair ramp available on request. Advance requests go to admin@philamoca.org. Confirm restroom and viewing needs at the same time, so “a ramp exists” does not become the whole access plan.
Getting there
Use 531 N. 12th Street, not the First Unitarian Church address on a different R5 bill. Keep a copy of the specific event page and its opening time. The venue is a performance space, not a conventional museum with universal daytime admission.
Putting on a show here
The about page invites rental inquiries for performances, workshops, practices and screenings. Contact the operator with dates and full event details. If an outside promoter presents the show, ticket questions belong with that presenter.
Our read
A good choice when underground music and film belong in the same night-out vocabulary. Arrange the ramp ahead of time if you need it, and verify the exact event’s admission policy.
